What is an OC Battle?
OC stands for Original Character. Generally how these battles work is two artists each draw a depiction of a fight between their characters with their own character as the victor. The actual winner of the battle is usually determined by judges which may be a group of people or the viewing audience. In the case of Colosseum, it's a panel of judges.
I'm not very good with comics. Can I still enter?
Of course, you can! Comics is only one way to depict a battle. We also accept single images and animations. Our focus is on story telling and character, which can be captured in a single image, but that actually can be considered more difficult. Most people choose comics because it allows them more space to tell the story. We don't care if the layout is super radical or anything. Simple squares works for us.
Do entries need to be in color?
Nope, Color is not a requirement. We only require that submissions look polished. Color can help, especially as a visual storytelling device, but we wouldn't dock points if it isn't colored. I've seen plenty of good work that was done in black and white or grayscale.
Does my character have to be anthro/human/heroic/a fighter?
Nope. The only rule with characters is that they have to be your original creation.
Are written works accepted as well?
This contest's focus really is on visual storytelling. What I would suggests is if you are a writer, to team up with an artist in a collaboration.
This sounds cool! Is there any way I can help?
Yes, I'm sure there is. Send a note if you are interested in:
- being a judge. I'm looking for impartial people who knows basic principles of art and storytelling.
- suggestions for prizes, or wanting to donate a prize for the competition.
- promoting the competition on DA. It's a bit early to start, but come March 08, we'll need to get the word around for May.
- if you feel you can contribute something else.

A strong leader is expected to maintain steadfast resolve in his opinion even if the environment changes or he gets new information. In any other context, that would be considered the first sign of a brain tumor.
